Murder in the Atchafalaya

A Hawk Theriot & Kristi Blocker Mystery

As a new Treasury agent, Kristi Blocker finds there is more to South Louisiana than spicy jambalaya, hot crawfish, and cold oysters.

She searches for two co-workers in the vast Atchafalaya Basin, a swamp larger than Rhode Island. Then all hell breaks loose as Hawk Theriot tries to help the attractive young lady.

Though vastly different in style and technique, they combine forces to root out the conspiracy. They find that the root of the evil is closer than either thought.

This book was rated highly for several reasons. The key players in the drama were admirable and likable and well developed, while peripheral players were critically present but did not detract from the drama as it played out. The story was in a setting that I know and love. You Can't tell a story about this area of LA and not have some mysterious or imaginAtive historical aspect like Rougarous. Held my attention until the last page. I look forward to more Jim Riley books!
